In the heart of the Arrábida Natural Park, at the top of Serra de S. Filipe and less than a mile away from the centre of Setúbal, Há Mar Ao Luar (Moonlight by the Sea) is a charming refuge idealised by its owner, Maria João Pereira Caldas, now available for whoever wants to visit it. In this extraordinary place, where the view opens to the Sado estuary, the Tróia Peninsula and the Atlantic, the deep blue of the sea invades our senses, bringing us a feeling of peacefulness which fills the soul. And besides this privileged location, there is also the centenary mill, the most romantic place one can imagine, especially on those nights when the Moon decides to appear and cast its glow all over the blackness of the Sea.

3. Various pedestrian routes cross the Arrábida Natural Park and are well marked. With different levels of difficulty, they provide excellent paths to “walkers”.

5. The dolphins that inhabits the Sado river estuary are the region’s main attraction. Maria João can organize boat trips for guests to watch them.
